ABOUT

Pam-39RFINAL (1).jpg

Pamela Allen Architecture is a full-service business specializing in residential design in West Seattle. Our goal is to be an advocate for the owner's vision, budget, and dreams.

Design is a process that responds to the concept, budget, and scope. Limits of any of these items can be a source of innovation and inventive outcomes. I believe it is possible to create an architecture that is both practical and transformative within any parameters or constraints.

The Architect

Pamela Allen is a licensed architect with over 25 years of experience. Her professional history includes commercial, public, and residential work. The business focus is on residential design and values collaborating with clients while balancing budget with design priorities.

Work experience includes public projects for King County and Sound Transit. Pamela was selected to be an ‘associate’ at Streeter and Associate Architects, one of the first women architects to gain this position. This position brought skills in project management and team building which translates well to running my own business.

Pamela is a northwest native, who got her undergraduate degree at Whitman College in Art History. Her education includes a Master of Architecture from Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-arc) where she studied with Pulitzer prize winner, Thom Mayne. She was honored to have one of her projects selected for a school publication at SCI- arc.

Pamela has an interest in sustainable design and became a LEED Accredited Professional in 2005, to help clients pursue green design goals, energy efficiency and chemical sensitivity to all projects. She joined the Northwest Eco Building Guild in 2019, as a resource for gaining knowledge in green design. It is all in the spirit of making the world a better place! And in November of 2020 she became a Certified ADU (Accessary Dwelling Unit) Specialist.
